We earlier established the anti-secretory and mucogenic activities of tadalafil in indomethacin induced ulceration in rats and that these properties are modulated by the presence of sex hormones and thyroxine. The current study investigated the influence of these hormones on gastric blood flow, prostaglandin secretion and nitric oxide production in rats. Adult Wistar rats (140-160 g) were used. Gastric ulcer was induced in fasted rats using oral indomethacin (40 mg/Kg). Direct gastric blood flow was measured with a transonic T206 blood flow meter. Animals were sacrificed 4 h after ulcer induction. ELISA technique was used to evaluate the concentration of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and nitrite in the gastric homogenate. Data were analysed by ANOVA followed by Newman Keul’s post-hoc test at α0.05. Blood flow, gastric PGE2 and nitric oxide contents were significantly elevated by tadalafil and by co-administration of tadalafil with oestrogen or thyroxine. We conclude that the gastro protective effect of tadalafil was mediated by increased PGE2 and nitric oxide generation and that this protective effect is enhanced...

Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disorder. It causes poor muscle tone, low degrees of sex hormones, and consistent sentiment of craving. The piece of cerebrum that controls yearning does not work appropriately in individuals with PWS. The gorge, prompting weight. There is no remedy for PWS exercise and dietary supervision can help fabricate bulk and control weight. le with PWS need particular consideration and supervision for the duration of their lives. The information is gathered from the PubMed database utilizing watchword search from the year 2009 to 2018 absolutely for a long time; the gathered information is masterminded in exceed expectations position for simple examination. Aggregate of 1381 writing is distributed from the year 2009 to 2018; in the year 2016, the most elevated number of 172 articles are distributed. In the year 2015, an aggregate of 154 articles distributed, and in the year 2018, an aggregate of 145 articles distributed. A minimal number of articles distributed in the year 2009 aggregate of 107. The buccal cavity is considering as a door for the digestive system. It is composed of teeth, tongue, and palate. When the food enters the buccal cavity, it is moved along the pharynx and esophagus and then go onward through the stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anal opening. When the drug is taken by the buccal delivery system, it decreases the time needed for the drug to give its action, progresses the therapeutic action of the drug and gives a better enzymatic flora for drug absorption. It provides direct entry of drug into the systemic circulation; therefore, decrease all the drawbacks of the per-oral administration of drugs as hepatic first-pass effect, presystemic elimination of GIT by enzymatic degradation; between different routes of drug delivery, wafers are considered the most advantageous dosage form that taken orally and gives response at once with little side effects. The buccal region is one of the most convenient and easily approachable routes for administration of the therapeutic agents to be used locally and...

Purpose: The main objective of the present research investigation is to formulate the sustained release formulation of Rosuvastatin. Rosuvastatin, an antihyperlipidemic agent, belong BCS class-II agent. Methods: The SR tablets of Rosuvastatin were prepared to employ different concentrations of HPMCK4M and SCMC in different combinations by direct compression using 32 factorial designs. The concentration of polymers, HPMCK4M, and SCMC required to achieve the desired drug release was selected as independent variables, X1, and X2 respectively whereas, time required for 10% of drug dissolution (t10%), 50% (t50%), 75% (t75%) and 90% (t90%) were selected as dependent variables. Results and Discussion: nine formulations were designed and are evaluated for hardness, friability, thickness, % drug content, in-vitro drug release. From the results, it was concluded that all the formulation were found to be within the Pharmacopoeial limits and the in-vitro dissolution profiles of all formulations were fitted into different kinetic models, the statistical parameters like intercept, slope & regression coefficient were calculated. Polynomial equations were developed for dependent variables. The validity of...

Helminthiasis is prevalent globally, but is more common in developing countries with poorer personal and environmental hygiene. In the human body gastrointestinal tract is the abode of many helminths, but some also live in tissue. They harm the host by depriving him of food, causing blood loss, injury to organs, intestinal or lymphatic obstruction. It is estimated that hundreds of millions of people harbor parasitic worms and one-third of the almost three billion people that live below the poverty line in developing regions of sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and the Americas are infected with one or more helminth. This review gives an overview of symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prevalence, and herbs used in...
