Indole derivatives are prepared by heating a mixture of ketone and phenylhydrazine for 1 hour in a water bath. Poured the heated mixture to a flask and added previously boiled acid to it and again heated and stirred for an additional 10 min. Added the mixture to 25 ml of ice water. As an intercellular signal molecule, indole regulates various aspects of bacterial physiology, including spore formation, plasmid stability, and resistance to drugs, biofilm formation, and virulence. Indole derivatives show antimicrobial, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic...

Knowing the morphology of Copper nanoparticles was confirmed by Field Emission Scanning Electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Herein, we are reporting a novel biological approach for the formation of copper nanoparticles using leave. Copper sulfate was made to reduce with an aqueous solution of Cassia auriculata leave extracts. X-Ray diffraction (XRD) pattern reveals the formation of Copper nanoparticles, which shows crystallinity. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) suggested particles size and spherical shape in the range of 38.1-43.5 nm. UV absorption studies of copper nanoparticles showed that have absorbance in the range 488.5 to 514.3 nm and FT-IR studies of copper nanoparticles were showed that the stretching frequency of fingerprint region at 509.21 cm-1 for Cu-O...

Head lice infestation or Pediculosis capitis, caused by Pediculus humanus capitis, is a common health concern. In the US, where Pediculosis capitis is the most prevalent parasitic infestation of children, 6 to 12 million people are affected every year. Pediculosis capitis remains confined to the scalp. Scalp pruritus is the cardinal symptom, although patients with lice can be asymptomatic. Pruritus with impetiginization should prompt the physician to look for lice or viable nits. All close contacts should be examined. Treatment directed at killing the lice and the ova should be considered only if active lice or viable eggs are observed. The three fundamental effective treatment options for head lice are topical pediculicides, wet combing, and oral therapy. Spraying or fogging a home with insecticides or pediculicides is not...

Introduction: Oral rehydration therapy is a life-saving intervention to save the lives of children. However, millions of children die every year due to failure to replace body fluid effectively. Therefore, this study was aimed to assess knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of caretakers towards ORS on the management of diarrhea among under-five children in Aysaita town, Afar Regional State, Ethiopia. Methods: A community based cross-sectional study was conducted in May 2016. Data were collected using a pretested structured questionnaire. The data were cleaned, coded, and entered into EpiData version 3.02 and exported to SPSS version 20 statistical package for analysis. Then descriptive statistics were used to describe the study variables. Results: One hundred seventy-two (72.9%) of the study, children had diarrhea at least once in their lifetime. Two hundred twelve (89.8%) of the caretakers had defined diarrhoea as passing of three or more watery stool. Furthermore, 164 (69.5%) of the care takers knew at least one danger sign of dehydration. Of 172 study children who had diarrhoea at least...

Transdermal drug delivery system was first introduced more than 30 years ago. The technology generated tremendous excitement and interest amongst major pharmaceutical companies in the 1980s and 90s. By the mid to late 1990s, the trend of transdermal drug delivery system merged into larger organizations. Skin acts as a major target as well as a principal barrier for topical/transdermal drug delivery. Ethosomes are the ethanolic phospholipid vesicles which are used mainly for transdermal delivery of drugs. Ethosomes have higher penetration rate through the skin as compared to liposomes; hence, these can be used widely in place of liposomes. Ethosomes have become an area of research interest because of its enhanced skin permeation, improved drug delivery, increased drug entrapment efficiency, etc. The purpose of writing this review on ethosomes drug delivery was to compile the focus on the various aspects of ethosomes including their mechanism of penetration, preparation, advantages, composition, characterization, application and ethosomes. Characterizations of ethosomes include particle size, zeta potential, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, entrapment efficiency, surface tension activity...
